Paper and Idea Development

The editors of the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ) invite applications for a Paper and Idea Development Workshop to be held at the Toulouse Business School and co-sponsored by the Toulouse Business School and the Montpellier Business School. The workshop will be on 3-4 May 2018. The purpose of the workshop is to develop ideas and working manuscripts with the aim of later submission for review at AMJ. Consistent with the mission of AMJ, submissions on all management-relevant topics, at all levels of analysis, and using all empirical methods are invited for the workshop. Submissions approved for inclusion in the workshop will be those judged to make potentially significant and novel
theoretical and empirical contributions to the field.

About the Workshop
The workshop is a one-and-a-half day event and will include presentations by AMJ’s editorial team as well as presentations and roundtable discussions from participants. This event is hosted on the campus
of the Toulouse Business School in the heart of Toulouse, France and co-hosted and –sponsored by the
Montpellier Business School. A tentative agenda is given below.

Application Process

Interested scholars should submit an extended abstract (between 5 and 10 pages of text) of their project proposal by March 1, 2018 to Jason Shaw ( ). The abstract should describe the project, the intended theoretical contribution, the research design, the empirical approach, and the status of the project idea to date.
